Mentoring and Training
As a Coordinator and Director of numerous digital humanities and public history initiatives, I trained and have been training undergraduate students in best practices and research methodologies. In the last years, I mentored, coordinated and supported the work of students taking part in different university scholarship/awards programs.
Dean's Award for Research Excellence (DARE), York University
The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence gives York University’s LA&PS undergraduates the unique opportunity to fully participate in research projects with faculty members and research teams. Over the summer term, students get hands-on experience and one-on-one mentoring in all aspects of the research process. As part of my work as a coordinator and research assistant for the SHADD_hub and CSiW Project I mentored, coordinated and supported the research of several YorkU DARE students. With this award, undergraduates benefit from the progressive, diverse and global scope of the research being done by our internationally-recognized faculty. These thought leaders are making a lasting impact in their fields and communities near and far, and they guide our students to examine and discover, critique and create.

Co-operative Education is an Experiential Learning Program
Co-operative Education is an Experiential Learning program which students can choose to take in their senior years of High School – grades 11 or 12. Students gain practical work experience in a field of their choice while working closely with a professional in that field, gaining work experience and improving on key skills like communication, problem-solving, effective planning, research, conflict management and time management. Co-op provides students an opportunity to ‘try out’ their possible future career while simultaneously making connections with industry leaders. I mentored and supervised the research-support work of several highschool students in their placements at the Harriet Tubman Institute, since 2018.
